Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's. We went to the pumpkin patch on Friday and it was so much fun. They had a corn maze with a game in it as you went through it you had to rub a picture at different spots to creat a big pumkin picture. It took the girls close to an hour to get through the maze and they had fun. We took some pictures, played on hay, and fed/petted the animals. The girls each picked out their own personalized pumpkin and carved it back at the house!

Another Cardiologist

So today I took Amanda to another cardiologist who explained her condition in great detail. It was amazing that this is a common condition in infants and teenagers. Hmmm..kind of explains the episodes when she was an infant and now... Anyway he also went to great lengths at the procedure which sounds really cool and not something scary at all. I must say technology has come a long long way over the last 16 years! He was in no hurry to do the procedure (notice I am not refering to it as surgery because it really is not surgery as it is more of a procedure than anything). He wanted to really monitor when she has an episode so it will show up on the EKG and he can have a better understanding of what is going on inside. He gave her this cool looking device that she holds up to her heart and records for 30 seconds. She sends the recording over the phone and it will go right into the computer and show them her heartrate. She does this each time she feels her heart rate increase. He says the condition is not life threatening so she can have an episode and work through it - he gave her vagal maneuvers she could do to stop it. If those do not work and it continues for 30 minutes we have to go to ER. At that time they would administer medication to slow it down.

Also, if she looses this device it will cost us $2500 to replace! Yikes!

Wedding Bliss

Today was not such a beautiful day outside because it was cold and windy, but inside was just absolutely beautiful. Today my beautiful neice and her fiance got married! Don was the best man, Heather was the flower girl, and I was the photographer. The ceremony was lovely, the cake eating was awesome and the dancing memorable! Congratulations Johanna and Andrew - Now off to Disneyland for the honeymoon! Enjoy!

Emergency Room Blues

So as I am trying to get the little ones to school, I get a call saying Amanda's in the nurses office. The call was from Amanda's phone, but it wasn't Amanda so I thought it was a prank call because after they said that the phone went blank. Then the school called and it was official she was in the nurses office with a heart rate of 180. I knew she had tacycardia, but she has not had an episode like this since she was little. When I got to the school -  (no they did not call the paramedics!!) her heart rate had not changed. We immediately went to the ER, but by the time we got there it had finally calmed down to 95, but the doctor saw us anyway. She was told after her EKG that she had Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome and that she would need surgery to take care of it. Amanda freaked out thinking they were going to cut her chest open. Later the nurse came in and explained that it would be an outpatient procedure and not to worry! Whew what a relief!! Anyway, we see the cardiologist tomorrow to find out more.

Got to love GREEN!

It is officially St. Patricks Day when the kids eat Lucky Charms with Green Milk and for snack have green cupcakes and green apples. I love it when my 4 year old says yuk when I poured the green milk over her cereal until she saw her big sister eat the cereal saying yummy!!

WoW!! She is 16 already!!

We were planning a big party for Amanda's 16th birthday, but since we were in the middle of a big moving fiasco we decided to take her and 5 friends to an amusement park. She decided Six Flags Magic Mountain would be the perfect place. So we loaded everyone up at 6am and drove 4 hours to have fun on some AWESOME roller coasters. 3 of the friends that went had never ever been to Magic Mountain which was awesome! So at the end of the day riding all the roller coasters that they could, they all deemed X2 was their favorite!

So after 10 hours of being at the park, we headed home and the kids were still going for awhile. At our last stop before coming into Vegas, Amanda decided she wanted to climb onto the top of the truck and stand! She is a goofball!!

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY AMANDA!!!!

Elizabeth's Baby Shower

Today Amanda and I went to the Baby Shower for one of my other daughters who is about to have TWINS soon!! She was so beautiful and happy - I haven't seen her like that in a long time, but she has a long road ahead of her. She got everything she needed at the shower and she is set. Now just to figure out when they are due when the dr gave her a few week time frame for the due date (May 4 - May 22?? - REALLY). I think they will come sometime in April myself just as long as they are healthy! Oh man, I am going to be a grandma at 40!! Well at least I will be young enough to enjoy them! YAY.

Moving - Does it have to take soooo long??

We did finally move into our home - it only took weeks! No seriously, we were told that we would close on the 14th of January so we gave our notice and had to be out by the 4th of February and the house was still not closed until today!!! Thank our Heavenly Father for beyond GREAT friends who let us stay with them and all the beyond GREAT friends who offered a bed or a floor to sleep on as well as the beyond GREAT friends who helped us move and store stuff at their home during those two weeks!! My hat goes off to ALL who were involved and helped us through - you are truely Christlike examples to me and my family! Another great thing is that I love my new house!

Cruising

January 9 - 14 my husband and I went on a cruise with two other couple friends to Cabo, Mexico. We had a blast. We learned how to dance, we ate, we laughed, ate, laughed, played phase 10, ate, were on a newlywed game, ate, snorkled, ate, kayaked, ate, parasailed, ate, whale watched, ate, shopped, ate, took pictures, ate, sang, ate, celebrated, watched a hairchest competition, ate, golfed, ate, worked out, ate, swam, and finally we ate. It was so much fun and cannot wait to do it again!

Random Sillyness!

Just before FHE on Monday my kids were goofing off and they got the camera and started doing a photo shoot. They are constantly doing random silly things, which I love because it brings laughter, smiles and good times!! No household should be without random silly acts as a family!

Packing

In about 3 weeks we will be moving into the house we purchased. I am so excited, but there is much to do because one of those weeks we will be gone on a cruise. So today, I started packing up some of the things we don't normally use on a daily bases, like decorations, pictures and such. So far I dont feel overwelmed and if I keep up this pace I should not feel that way. So today, I took a picture of some of the boxes I packed up. I am hoping that all goes smooth with the move!

Sundays are BEAU-tiful

Today was a beautiful Sabbath day, well that is the way it ended anyway. I woke up nice and early, got ready for church and had to make the reservations for our Ward's Girl's Camp. Needless to say, I did not get the spot that I planned on and when I went back in to search for other sites, well they were all gone within 10 minutes. I felt like I could not face my leaders in the YW and felt as though I let them down, but Heavenly Father is GREAT! He turned it all around and made it so I found a campsite a few miles down the road, so we are still going to the beach for Girls Camp, just going on a new adventure together!! I love how He allows things to work for us when we dont understand what or why! He is AMAZING! We made it to church just after the opening prayer in time for Sacrament and had a wonderful rest of the day. We learned about Jesus in Sunday School and then about who Heavenly Father is in Young Women's! What a Glorious Sabbath! I am sad though that the kids are starting back to school because I so enjoyed our time together. I know these six months will go by fast and then we will have the summer to enjoy together. As for now I am counting down to a cruise with my hubby and good friends in as my Heather would say "7 sleeps" and then off to Cabo!! Whe you think all is lost or things are not going the way you thought -  remember that we are all Children of God and with Him all things are possible!
